North Homes Children and Family Services Teen Group,
All teen groups are facilitated by NCHFS staff and run concurrently with our Parent Adoption Support Group. Open to youth, ages 13 and up. Topics vary and have included sibling relationships, school issues, family dynamics, self identity, family communication, grief and loss and adjustment.
When: Bi-monthly, 2nd Tuesday of the month

AHA Middle School Adoptee Group,
an adoptee peer support group for middle school students in the Minnetonka Public School District
When: Thursdays, rotating class periods

Children’s Home Society & Family Services Support Groups
All support groups are facilitated by a licensed social worker and CHSFS staff. Unless otherwise noted, all groups meet at Children’s Home Society & Family Services, 1605 Eustis Street, St. Paul, MN 55108. Bubble Gum Group: For Children ages 8-11 Who Joined Their Family Through Adoption, is open to any family, regardless of placing agency. Each session discusses diversity and culture, school issues, adoption and birth families. A corresponding group for parents meets at the same time. Beyond the Bubble: For Youth ages 11 and Older Who Joined Their Family Through Adoption, is open to any family who has completed two or more sessions of the Bubble Gum Group (see above). Each session dives deeper into what adoption means to the adopted youth and the world around them. A parent’s group will meet separately with an adoption social worker. African American Adoption Agency All Stars Support Group, the goal is to support adopted teens, ages 13-17, as they reclaim strength and independence through shared experiences, learned coping strategies and a network of other adoptees.
