(June 2016) School is out, summer is here and your children no longer have the structure of school. So how do you create a summer schedule that is full of fond memories, yet promotes productivity and a sense of accomplishment? Children with trauma and attachment histories often have a difficult time with change and transition, so join family therapist and adoptive mother, Brenda Benning, LICSW as she shares tips for the summer, that include:
How to create a safe and structured environment
How to promote nutrition and physical activity
How to manage your child’s daily routine and sleep patterns
How to ensure your own self-care
This 90-minute online consultation is available to families who are parenting children with trauma or attachment histories. Participants were encouraged to ask questions.
