1163d – Webinar – Understanding Feeding, Eating & Attachment
(May 2017) This training will equip parents and professionals with practical knowledge and tools for helping to heal feeding and eating issues with traumatized youth. Children in the foster care system have all experienced some type of trauma and their attachment process has been disrupted. Feeding and Eating disorders are a way for these children to take control of their chaotic situations. Without proper treatment and interventions, symptoms can quickly escalate becoming frustrating, tiring and defeating for parents. This training will explore the importance of healing attachment while healing the eating and feeding problems. We will discuss the basic understandings of attachment and its relationship to feeding and eating problems, basic knowledge of feeding and eating disorders, and treatment protocols and guidelines as they apply to feeding, eating and attachment.
