(October 2020)  Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASDs) are a group of disorders that can occur due to pre-natal exposure to alcohol. There are many things that we do not understand about FASDs and how pre-natal exposure to alcohol can impact children. This workshop will give an overview of common symptoms and behaviors often associated with FASD. The main focus of the workshop will be helpful tips and interventions for caregivers on how to help children with FASDs be successful.

Heather Siek, Psy.D. LPCC is a licensed outpatient therapist at The Village Family Service Center in Moorhead, MN. She received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology. Heather specializes in working with children, adolescents and families. She is trained in two evidence-based trauma models, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Child Parent Psychotherapy. She is also trained in Parent Child Interaction Therapy, a behavioral treatment for young children. Heather also is an adjunct professor in the Psychology Department at MSUM.
