SKU: 20220601-1-1-1-2-1 Category:

(June 2022) Data suggests that LGBTQ+ youth experience alarming rates of bullying, victimization, and ostracization. Stated differently, LGBTQ+ youth face unique and hostile stressors. As a result, their needs may differ in some ways from their heterosexual and cisgender counterparts. Knowing that this is the case and honoring that LGBTQ+ youth may need additional support is the first step in creating a safe home environment. Sometimes despite our best efforts, feelings of inadequacy can creep in. Am I good enough? Do I know enough? What if I mess up? What if they have problems I don’t know how to address? It is normal to question our ability when entering into something new. We must acknowledge those feelings and place them in proper perspective. Join the internationally sought-after LGBTQ+ sensitivity and transgender inclusion subject matter expert Dr. A.C. Fowlkes for a candid discussion of feelings of inadequacy and steps we can take to overcome them to provide LGBTQ+ youth the loving and nurturing homes that they need.
