AMBIGUOUS LOSS

Through adoption, ambiguous losses are inevitable and should be addressed along with other grief and loss processing. It is important to know that both children and parents experience ambiguous loss, and acknowledgement of the loss as well as recognition of integrating these losses is essential to creating healthy coping and processing for the entire family.
