Ariel Pavelka is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) practicing at Fraser’s Coon Rapids location. Ariel enjoys working with young children on the adoption and permanency spectrum and their families. Ariel’s primary practice has been with children ages 6 months to 12 years and their families who have experienced grief, loss, trauma and difficulties related to identity, family loyalty and transitions as part of their foster care and adoption experience.
Ariel utilizes principles from attachment and systems theory while highlighting existing family strengths to support individuals and their caregivers. Ariel believes working with those in foster care, kinship care or adoption presents opportunities for working with the whole family, as each experience has an effect on not only the child but all family members.
Ariel completed advanced training via the University of Minnesota’s Permanency and Adoption Competency Certificate program (2017-2018), as well as certification in the Attachment Biobehavioral Catch Up (ABC) Intervention (2020). Ariel has experience providing individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy and day treatment in a variety of settings, including in clinics, schools and homes.
