Additional Information:

Specialties:   Adoption, Early childhood maltreatment and trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder/trauma. I work with children and adolescents. EMDR trained

Location:  Office-based

Philosophy of Practice:   “Parents (adoptive) are the healing agents for their children. Many adoptees who have problematic behaviors are acting out of past experience, deficits in brain function caused from abuse/neglect/inutero exposure to toxins. Children can be healed and form healthy connections with adoptive parents.”

Adoption Related Experience/Recent Training:   Worked in some capacity at FACC for last 14 years – lead therapist in Attachment program, Day treatment therapist, Play therapist and the current director for education and support groups. Currently, I facilitate the social skills group and the Teen Adopted Girls’ Group. FACC also offers equine assisted therapy and I am certified in EAGALA, a form of equine assisted therapy. Additionally, we have some new publications. I am listed as an author in the following publications: Parenting with Stories, Connecting with Kids Through Stories, 2nd Edition, and DVD/ workbook entitled First Steps for Strengthening Adoptive Families: Tools and Techniques for Meeting the Needs of Your Adopted Child.
