Molly McHugh is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Barry University in Miami, FL. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN.

Prior to becoming Therapeutic Services Agency’s (TSA) Day Treatment Clinical Director and an outpatient therapist, Molly worked in both the Family Based Services and Child and Adolescent Treatment Programs at TSA, providing individual and group skills training. She also has experience working with inner-city youth at the Pillsbury Waite House in Minneapolis and with asylum-seeking immigrants from Africa at the Interprofessional Center for Counseling and Legal Services at St. Thomas. In addition, Molly has worked with at-risk elementary students and their families in home and school settings and also completed outreach work to homeless persons as part of a program for the city of Miami Beach.

Molly has completed the Permanency and Adoption Competency Certificate Program in Minnesota, equipping her to assist adoptive families in their family development. She has particular interest in working with those in foster care, adoptees and their families. Molly is also trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) and is a trainer in Restrictive Procedures, Crisis Management and Self Care.

Molly also has an interest in working with youth who are aging-out of foster care and a passion for working with diversity, respecting persons of varying race, ethnicity and cultural groups. Molly is currently the Day Treatment Director at Therapeutic Services Agency and also provides Outpatient therapy in Pine City, North Branch, and Coon Rapids.
