Clara Rivers, MSW, LICSW, RPT

HOME > Therapist Search > Clara Rivers, MSW, LICSW, RPT

Clara Rivers specializes in working with families with young children (0-10) who have experienced traumas, are on the adoption/permanency spectrum, or are having emotional, social or behavioral challenges (including any number of mental health diagnoses). She also is passionate about working with parents, whether on parenting specifically, or processing through how their own unique pasts impact them and their parenting styles today.

She will work with you to create a plan for how she can best support you and your family. Sometimes that may include family therapy, working together on parenting skills and challenges, doing your own therapy, or play therapy for your child. Clara primarily uses Child-Centered Play Therapy, family therapy and Theraplay techniques when working with children and their caregivers, but has experience with many other techniques as well.

She is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and a Registered Play Therapist, with a Masters in Social Work from the University of St. Thomas/St. Catherine University, and eight years of experience working with children and families.
