Kendra Snyder, MA, LMFT, NCC

Credentials: Kendra is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Kendra received a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary, a post-graduate Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Denver Family Institute, and a Bachelor of Arts in Family Studies. Additionally, Kendra has completed advanced trainings related to adoption, attachment, trauma, and spirituality, including Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy with Dan Hughes, Trust Based Relational Interventions (TBRI), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Clinical Background: Kendra has been working with children, teens, and families for over 15 years, in a variety of settings. Kendra’s clinical background includes providing therapeutic group services to children and parents in transitional/safe housing, intensive in-home family therapy focusing on attachment, trauma, and adoption, as well as outpatient services to families, couples, and individuals in private practice and through the PASS Center (a group therapy practice specialized in post adoption support services). Through working in a variety of clinical settings, Kendra has gained valuable knowledge and therapeutic skills around adoption, attachment, trauma, parenting, interpersonal stress, families, and kids/teens, and is passionate about helping client’s experience healing, wellness, and connection. In addition to working with adoptees in her private practice, Kendra’s passion for supporting the adoption community has led her to volunteer her time speaking at various Heritage Camps, as well as traveling to China in 2017 and 2018 with a group of adoptees on a service trip with the nonprofit Adopteen (a division of Chinese Children Adoption International).

Services: Kendra specializes in providing therapy services to families, couples, and individuals who have been touched by adoption, grief, loss, have experienced relational trauma, desire increased attachment and connection, and seek to explore personal identity and spirituality. Kendra utilizes relational and attachment focused therapy techniques, play therapy, experiential interventions, creativity, as well as insight and awareness to help clients experience their desired growth, change, and healing. Clients and colleagues describe Kendra as deeply empathic, compassionate, wise, intuitive, and skilled in supporting others in creating lasting change and healing.

Fun Facts: Kendra loves spending time in the outdoors – hiking, biking, and camping, as well as curling up by the fire with a cup of coffee and a good book. Kendra enjoys creativity and fosters this through music and pottery. Outside of the office, you can usually find her spending time with family and friends, exploring the outdoors or a new coffee shop, and hanging out with her husband and dog Roo.
