Shawn has had extensive training in the field of play therapy and uses a non-directive/experiential approach to working with children in play. Shawn believes in a systemic approach to working with children.

Almost 90% of play therapists are female. Unfortunately, many children have had negative experiences with men. Shawn offers the opportunity for children to develop trust and work through past trauma with an experienced male therapist. It has proved to be a very unique and healing experience for many children and families!

“I have been working with children and families for more than 20 years. Since 2002, I have been working at my private practice, Twin Cities Play Therapy Center, focusing on using non-directive and filial/parent-child models of play therapy. Areas of focus are adoption, attachment, abuse related trauma, neglect, and family change.”
