Meet Devante

Black or African American, Caucasian
Devante loves being active and on-the-go. He likes to run in 5K races and participates in a running club. After going for a practice run Devante usually jumps into the creek to cool off. When he is not running, Devante likes to go camping and fishing, but he says that he doesn’t eat fish  - “gross!”.  Devante also has a “green thumb” as he has helped to grow and harvest a number of fruits and vegetables in the garden. He’s always looking for ways to help out and he loves to cut grass and use the weed-eater around the building grounds. Devante volunteers to cut the grass for an elderly woman in the community. He also took care of the rabbits and chickens making sure they had enough water, food, and attention.

Overall, Devante is a neat kid with good energy that he likes to put to use as he says that he doesn’t “have time” for video games. Devante would do well in a family that enjoys being active and that could provide him with opportunities to participate in sports. Devante likes to learn and does well in school, so he would need a family that could continue to encourage his academic ability. Devante would do well in a family that has a large yard or space nearby for him to spend time outdoors. He loves dogs and enjoys their calming presence, so a family with a dog would be welcomed. He’d be okay with an older sibling, but he thrives on one-on-one attention. Lastly, he would do well in a home that is in or outside the metro area.

Only Minnesota families and families living just over the border into Wisconsin are being considered at this time.
