Meet Crystal

American Indian/Alaskan Native, Caucasian
Crystal is a friendly, passionate, and warm teen and she’s always up for a good conversation. She has a great smile and likes to reflect on her memories with friends and family. Crystal enjoys talking to people and learning about other’s experiences. The more time you spend with Crystal, the clearer her passion for music and singing becomes. She brags about a shirt she used to own that read “You had me at ‘hello’, but you lost me at ‘I don’t like country music’.” Crystal enjoys all kinds of music nowadays, she performed in multiple talent shows in recent years, and she sings in her school’s choir.

Crystal used to volunteer at a local animal shelter, but she’ll admit that she was partial to the kitty cats!  She once got the opportunity to ride a horse, and would love to ride again someday. Those who know Crystal well say that she is smart, friendly, affectionate, and kind. Crystal is eager to play on the girls’ basketball team again—which she totally loved. Crystal has been very active in her church’s youth group and appreciates the sense of community it provides. Overall, Crystal says she just wants a family that “can love and accept” her as she is.

Crystal thinks she would do well in a mom and dad family or single mom family. She wants parents who can accept her for who she is and have a non-judgmental parenting style. Crystal does have two younger brothers who she would like to remain in contact with. She is open to there being other children in an adoptive family, especially older siblings. Crystal is open to living in a variety of different communities. All in all, Crystal will do well with a family that can provide her with a lot of attention and affection, a family that likes talking and chatting, a family that can provide her with opportunities for personal empowerment, and a family that has or is open to having pets—preferably a cat.

ICWA does apply, and the tribe will consider all families.
