I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and believe that, first and foremost, the building of a strong, safe and reverent therapeutic relationship is central to any healing and transformational work. I work to honor and welcome all parts of you and your family, and to explore how we might work collaboratively in working towards your goals. My specializations are in treating the complex challenges that arise as a result of traumatic stress, attachment trauma, intergenerational trauma, and dissociation,
I work with children ages four through adolescence. My work takes into consideration that each child’s needs are unique and treatment should be tailored accordingly. I work collaboratively with parents and caregivers, teachers and other important adults in a child’s life to offer more comprehensive treatment and to ensure that each child is understood holistically. Therapy can be done individually, dyadically and/or as a family, and incorporates play therapy, sand tray, EMDR, Sensory Motor Arousal Regulation Treatment (SMART) and the Attachment Regulation and Competency Framework (ARC). I am also available for IEP meetings, and school and case consultation as needed on a case by case basis.
I also work with adults of all ages and specialize in the treatment of the complex ways in which trauma can manifest itself in our lives later in life and can be brought to the surface in one’s journey as a caregiver or parent. I also work with folks living with anxiety, depression, who are addressing and exploring gender-related issues, interpersonal violence and abuse, military-related issues, and navigating major life transitions/adjustments. I take a collaborative approach to assessment, treatment planning and treatment. My work integrates a variety of treatment modalities based on your individual needs and preferences and can incorporate relational/psychodynamic psychotherapy, EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, parts work (including Internal Family Systems and Components Based Psychotherapy), trauma informed yoga and meditation and more.
Additionally, I welcome the opportunity to work with foster parents, pre- and post-adoptive parents, and other caregivers in understanding the complex impacts of developmental trauma and attachment disruptions. Consultations focus on strengthening and supporting the parent-child relationship through deepening your understanding of your child, making sense of their emotional and behavioral experiences, and fostering the repair and building of healthy attachments in families.
