Deirdre McKiernan, MSW, LICSW

Deirdre is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. She provides therapy to children (preschool and school age), adolescents, adults and families. She has extensive experience working with children of all ages dealing with a variety of issues, including: anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, developmental disorders (Autism Spectrum Disorders), attachment disorders and issues of trauma and abuse. She has worked for many years with children and families involved in the foster care and adoption systems.

Deidre’s interests include addressing the impact of trauma and loss on the lives of individuals and families and building and supporting strong and healthy attachments. She works with clients addressing issues of mood disorders, grief and loss and developmental disorders.

Her previous work has included residential treatment settings with adolescents and preschool day treatment settings before establishing her private practice.
